Michelle A. Bart
Michelle was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and had lived in Los Angeles, CA over fifteen years until moving to the Pacific Northwest in 2008. Known to many in Southern California as the founder of the Foothill Arthritis Connection, Michelle has over 20 years experience in event production, fundraising, non-profit management, and media communications. Michelle holds a communication’s degree and has applied her education and expertise to helping businesses and organizations obtain visibility through the media, community relations, and the Internet. Michelle has sat on numerous boards of directors including the American Cancer Society, Soroptimist, Azusa Chamber of Commerce, and the National Fibromyalgia Association. Michelle has been an Ambassador for the Arthritis Foundation, the chairperson of the Human Trafficking Seminar in Irwindale, CA, the publicity chairperson for the annual Human Trafficking forum in Clark County Washington, she serves on the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children Advisory Board for Take25, and she is trained on Human Trafficking through CASE and Gems. Michelle continues to keep busy contributing to the Human Rights Campaign, Soroptimist, and GLAAD. Michelle is owner of a national marketing and public relations corporation, Helping Heroes, which has taken a different path from traditional clients to helping families of missing children keep their child’s face and case visible through national media outlets including HLN’s Nancy Grace Show, “Issues” with Jane Velez-Mitchell on HLN, Fox News, Cnn’s Larry King Live, and People Magazine to name a few. She is also the host of “Voices for Justice” and is a member of NCLR and Society of Professional Journalists. |

Chris Hennel, NWCAT Co-Chair |
Chris Hennel, MSW Chris has 19 years of social service experience starting with first establishment of DV shelters and services for rape victims in Detroit, Michigan. Chris has worked in probation and parole with sex/rape offenders; twenty years experience in Department of Human Services, Oregon, Child Welfare from caseworker, supervisor to branch manager. She has assisted in starting the Child Welfare Partnership Program with the Graduate School of Social Work at PSU, and was on faculty there for two years working on training and placing graduates within the public child welfare system. Chris has worked for the YWCA for two years in Senior Services, Outreach, Volunteer Coordination, and now primarily as special project coordinator in the Human Trafficking area.

Joslyn Baker
Collaboration Specialist – Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children
Joslyn was born in the sunny Bay Area of Northern California and has lived in the northwest for the past 18 years. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Sacramento State University she went on to receive a Master of Arts degree in Special Education from the University of the Pacific at Stockton. Joslyn is the proud parent of a 15 year-old son and 23 year-old daughter. She lives with her son and wife Sarah in Vancouver, WA. For the past 18 years she has worked for Multnomah County in a variety of jobs. The common thread weaving her work together through the years is a passion for social justice that support healthy families and communities where people are safe and treated with dignity and respect.
Currently Joslyn is the Multnomah County Collaboration Specialist working on an effort to end the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children. Joslyn enjoys the challenges and rewards that come with leading this coordinated community response. |
