Michelle Bart, NWCAT Co-Chair |
Michelle Bart was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and had lived in Los Angeles County over fifteen years. Known to many in Southern California as the founder of the Foothill Arthritis Connection, Michelle has over 20 years experience in event production, fundraising, non-profit management, and media communications. Michelle holds a communication’s degree and has applied her education and expertise to helping businesses and organizations obtain visibility through the media, community relations, and the Internet. Michelle’s talents, creativity, and an eye for detail have captured the attention of community leaders, politicians, and the Hollywood elite throughout the United States. Michelle has sat on numerous boards of directors including the American Cancer Society, Soroptimist, Azusa Chamber of Commerce, and the National Fibromyalgia Association. Michelle has been an Ambassador for the Arthritis Foundation, the chairperson of the Human Trafficking Seminar in Irwindale, CA, the publicity chairperson for the annual Human Trafficking forum in Clark County Washington, and she continues to keep busy contributing to the Human Rights Campaign, Soroptimist, and GLAAD. Michelle is owner of a national marketing and public relations corporation, Helping Heroes, which in the past year has taken a different path from traditional clients to helping families of missing children keep their child’s face and case visible through national media outlets including HLN’s Nancy Grace Show, “Issues” with Jane Velez on HLN, Fox News, Cnn’s Larry King Live, and People Magazine to name a few. She is also the host of “Voices for Justice” on BlogTalkRadio in her spare time. |

Rebecca Cook is an Oregon native and has lived in Portland her entire life. Her passions include serving women, high-risk and at-risk youth, as well as people experiencing hunger and homelessness in the Portland area. Rebecca is active in counter-human trafficking efforts in the northwest serving as a volunteer and speaker for Transitions Global. She enjoys collaborating with the Oregon Human Trafficking Taskforce on various projects and sat on the steering committee for the Sexually Exploited Youth Conference. Rebecca has utilized her event planning and fund development skills to plan functions and raise thousands of dollars for numerous local non-profits including Transitions Global’s Spring Benefit, Not For Sale Oregon’s Salon with David Batstone and Janus Youth Programs Holiday Adopt-a-Family/Adopt-a-Program campaign. For the past several years she has directed the efforts in the kitchen at Union Gospel Mission’s Christmas Dinner where over 500 meals were served.
Rebecca is the co-chair of the Northwest Human Trafficking Conference, serves on the board of directors of Willamette Valley Development Officers where she is active on multiple committees and chairs the Third Thursday Programming Committee. Rebecca is also an advocate for the Sexual Assault Resource Center.

Wynne Wakkila is Executive Director for Oregonians Against Trafficking Humans (OATH), which coordinates volunteers to do outreach and education for the State of Oregon’s Human Trafficking Task Force. She also serves on City Club of Portland’s Agora Committee and is a Portland Soroptimist. Previous to retirement, she served mainly as an Accounting Manager for various government and non-profit agencies. With a public servant’s heart, she still serves on numerous boards and committees for government agencies and community service organizations. Wynne coordinated this year’s Human Trafficking series sponsored by City Club of Portland, Clark County Soroptimists, OATH, and Commissioner Diane McKeel’s Office.
